Square Hue: Subscription box review

Hi ladies!!! I hope you all are having a fantastic week! I was lucky enough to have Monday off so I'm only two days into this work week with only two to go! I have to say that I really needed that extra day off!!! It's been so rainy and dreary in Kentucky that I almost want to change the color of my polish by the hour! I'm sure I'm not the only girl who's ever been there! Come on, admit it! ;)

****************

Today I have for you some swatches and review of a nail polish subscription box!!! Square Hue is a monthly subscription box that is just 14.99 a month, plus shipping and handling. What I love about this box is you get three FULL SIZED polishes with plenty of polish to do manicures again and again!

Another thing I have to mention is their packaging!!! I am in love with the square bottles! The bottle shape really sets them apart from other polishes and looks so classy, sleek and elegant on my wall racks! When I received my package I was so impressed by the packaging when it arrived. It came nestled in a box and super secure!

The polishes I received were dated 8.14 and were part of their Beverly Hills collection. I received Rodeo Drive, Cannon Drive, and Wilshire Drive. I'm sure you're interested in the swatches and formula, so let's get into it!

**************

First up is Rodeo Drive and this is a beautiful gold metallic polish with micro shimmers throughout.

I was really nervous that this polish was going to be streaky. But I was wrong! The polish applied smoothly and evenly in two coats was completely opaque and shimmery!

Next up is Cannon Drive. This color is a gorgeous Orchid color! It is a satin polish with a glossy finish.

I usually do not like polishes with a satin finish, however this one went on with no streaks what-so-ever and was opaque in two coats!

The last of the three polishes did not disappoint!!! Wilshire Boulevard is a gorgeous cobalt blue satin with a glossy finish as well.

This polish applied much in the same as Cannon Drive. I am in love with the color! Opaque in two coats and super prettty!!!!

I wanted to get a bit creative and incorporate some nail art with all three polishes! Below I've done a gradient using the gold Rodeo Drive as a base. I love the way this turned out!

I thought I would take it one step further and do a stamping this gradient and I'm glad I did. I feel as if it's truly stunning.

Overall I have to say that I am IN LOVE with these polishes! The size of the polishes are comparable to all of my high-end polishes. I would say the formula is very much comparable as well. Please don't hate me for saying this, but you're wasting your money on Julep!!!! I would recommend this subscription box to my friends and family, and of course all of my extended family (yes, you!) You cannot go wrong with quality and price!

Review: Honey Buttons Nail Polish

It has been while! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! I have been so busy with work that I haven't had much time for my nails! I've also been in a rut lately! I don't know about you but something about the humidity and heat gives me little motivation for polishing and art :-(! I hope to start creating more beautiful manicures for you very soon!

For now I have these gorgeous custom polishes from Honey Buttons Nail Polish!!! I found her polishes when I was searching google for "Dr Who Nail Art". I found a post made by Fierce Makeup and Nails while at lunch with some friends and fell in LOVE with the Dr. Who polishes she created for her and wanted my very own rendition of these polishes! I only wanted "The Doctor" (David Tenant will always be the only doctor IMHO)! I racked my brain trying to think of something else "nerdy" for my inner nerd! I decided I wanted to do a Battlestar Galactica polish and I chose Starbuck because let's be honest, She is AMAZING! Now that I have rambled I will tell you a little about these polishes!

**********************

The first polish I've named is "THE DOCTOR". I asked for a crelly blue formula with Blue, pink and silver holographic sparkles. The formula of the polish was so smooth to apply! The color is so squishy! I applied 2 coats for the mani below with 1 coat of Seche Vite.

This color is just... OMG!!!!! This polish is one that I will use for special events for fear that recreation may be nearly impossible (though I'm sure with as awesome as she is she could recreate with her eyes closed). This polish is just AMAZING!

Next we have what I have named "Rose Tyler" I asked her for a pink crelly with irridesent blue flakies, purple holographic hexes as well as silver and gold hexes. Application was so easy and wonderful! I applied 2 even coats with 1 coat of Seche Vite for this glass like finish!

I wore this for a week for previously swatching it and received SOOO many compliments! It's a very true beautiful pink! When I think of Rose I think she is somewhat edgy with a bit of classic elegance so I wanted this polish to really portray the essence of her! I am in love with the result! :D

My third and final polish is "Starbuck". I asked for a blue-grey polish with small silver holographic glitter, medium sized silver and gold glitter, iridescent tiny glitter, and silver holo circles. I applied 2 even coats with very easy application. Because of the iridescent glitters this one was a bit thicker than the others, but till applied smoothly! Topped off with 2 coats of Seche Vite!

This polish surprised me soooo much!!!! I was expecting a slate grey color with a drop of blue, turns out that I REALLY love the way this blue turned out! I could see Starbuck wearing this polish or at least out outfit that matches it! :D

Her polishes are custom made! You can choose to tell her what you have in mind or let her create the magic for you! She takes great pride in her polishes as well as her packaging. My polishes came safely wrapped in bubble wrap, wrapped in tissue paper with her label atop.

I was able to chose my colors, glitters and labels for the bottles. She also can add more flare by adding bows, ribbons, charms, ect for additional amounts.

I have to say one thing for certain, I LOVE Honey Buttons Nail Polish! She makes custom polishes at an awesome price! customer service is amazing! Turn around time is wonderful!

How to order:
(Follow the instructions on the information section)

Check out Honey Buttons at these places:
Email: HoneyButtonsNailPolish@Hotmail.com

I purchased 2 of the three polishes with my own money.

I hope you enjoyed these polishes just as much as I did!!! :-) I hope you check her out!!!!

XOXO

I spent all day Saturday catching up on weeks worth of American Idol and still am not caught up! It's one of those shows that I do not realize that I have missed until I haven't watched it and spend countless hours catching up, swatching, and working on my blog! :-)

*****************************************
I have for you today another polish from Danielle from My-Stash Lacquer. This polish is named California Dreamin' and OMG ladies this polish is a glitter topper with multi-color glitters and BUTTERFLIES!!! First off, who does not love butterflies?! They are just so girly and precious!

I applied this polish over China Glaze "For Audrey", however this color would be amazing over ANY color polish you wanted to pair with! :-)

When I first saw this polish I knew that I HAD to have it!!!! I will be purchasing a full-size of this polish to have on hand!!!!

Let's get down to the basics- Application was beautiful! I did not have to fish for glitter, she has NAILED her polishes when it comes to glitters! I applied 2 coats in the picture below and topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Review: MDJ Creations

Hello Beauties! I hope you are all doing well and I hope that you all are doing well! I have spent the entire week sick! It's been a long week and have done much of nothing but lay on the couch, watch tv, eat snacks, and watch a few movies. I suppose we all need weekends like this!

On to what really brought you here...

These polishes by MDJ Creations are STUNNING!!!!! All of these polishes were truly beautiful and an absolute delight, including the fact that Melissa, the owner, is such a dear to work with!

When I first looked at these polishes I didn't think there was anything special about them, BOY was I WRONG! They all are so unique and truly were amazing and I cannot wait to share them with you, so here it goes!

 ***************************************************************
The first polish up is "Comet Chaser" from her Outer Space Collection. This is a Jelly based polish packed with glitters. I can pick out black, orange, and gold squares with micro holo hexes, larger black hexes, I'm sure there are some that I am missing! No undies in the pic below!

This is one of my favorites from all of them that I tried, mainly because I am in love with jelly sandwiches and this a jelly sandwich in a bottle! It is so squishy and beautiful!!!! you could wear this polish all year long, for any season. There was no "fishing" necessary and it applied effortlessly and so smoothly with a glassy finish! I would recommend this polish to anyone!

This Polish is being Clearanced, PLEASE RUSH over if you want this polish!!!!

The second polish is a glitter topper named "Something to Celebrate" which is just that! This polish is so shiny, bright, reflective and cheery! It would be beautiful over ANY color! For my review I have placed this polish over China Glaze's "Make an Entrance".

I can imagine wearing this polish for a birthday party, girls night out, New Year's Eve, Fourth of July, or just to feel pretty (because we all need a little inspiration at times).  It almost has a fairy tale quality to it! It was so easy to apply, pictured below has 2 thin coats!

Macro of bottle to left and to the right 2 coats over China Glaze Make an Entrance.

Next up I have a polish from her Gemstone Collection,  "Black Opal" which is a topper as well. It has holographic circles, black hexes and squares, silver holo hexes and squares along with very fine holographic bar hexes and iridescent flakies. I paired this polish with China Glaze "That's Shore Bright".

I didn't think that I would love this polish as much as I do! It's beautiful!!!! From far away it has that classic speckled appearance until your hand turns a certain way and the holo "Opalesque" catches your eye! I wore this polish and every time the light hit a certain way someone would say, "OHHHH, WHAT are you wearing on your nails?!"

"The King's Bride" is such a delicate, beautiful polish! It has a variety of holographic glitters with bars, hexes, and iridescent flakies. I decided to show how delicate it is and do a gradient effect over Sinful Colors "Endless Blue", I used only one coat.

The Next time I try this polish I will be placing it over a white or a silver polish! This application was also great! I did not have to fish for glitter, it was so easy to place on the nail and spread out so smoothly! This would be perfect for anytime of year and would add a delicate touch to any mani!

The last polish is another one of my favorites. "Earth Bound" from her Kingdom Collection is a gorgeous holographic with multicolor glitters with various sizes. I used no undies, just 2 coats of this polish!

This polish!!!!!! I want to just stop right there! Application was so smooth and was opaque in 2 coats. I did not recognize the holo in until I was in full sun or the right indoor lighting and the holo is sooo gorgeous! I need 2-3 backups of this bottle and will be purchasing a fullsize! I never want to be without this polish!

I am so impressed with these polishes! They were all so very gorgeous with very smooth application, no fishing. I would definitely recommend these polishes to anyone who is looking for unique, beautiful and special polishes and am honored that I was sent these polishes for review! I would recommend her polishes to anyone!

Review: My-Stash Lacquer- Springtime in Paris

Hello Ladies! I hope you are all having a wonderful week! :-) I have been so busy with everything that I have lined up for you! I have been working on swatches, and new products to introduce you to!

Today I have a super special post for you! I have been working with Danielle at My-Stash Lacquer to show you some of her amazing polishes that she mixes by hand!

Springtime in Paris is a beautiful glitter packed polish that has so many colors of glitter jam packed this bottle that I was in HEAVEN! As you all know I am a total glitter freak!

I was expecting to swatch this polish and move on to the next polish. However, after putting it on and wearing it for a few hours I decided I would be heartbroken to take it off! I ran errands and received so many compliments from every person which I encountered (no joke!!!), that I agreed with myself that it would be a SIN to remove!!!!

I tried to pull out and identify all the different color glitters and my eyes are not capable of doing so!  There are iridescent small and large hexes in pink and blue, bars, black and white, green, purple, all in various sizes, holographic, flakies... Need I say more?!

I wish I could have captured the beauty in the way that it shimmers and shines. These photos do this polish NO Justice!

I layered this polish over OPI's- You're such a Budapest and it gives it a pink tinge in the sun.

Bottle shot of Springtime in Paris

Can you just take a minute to let all of that glitter in!!!!!!

I attempted to zoom in so you could see all of the little specs of glitter there are

Swatch on paper over China Glaze's At Vase Value

One thing I noticed when placing this on paper to swatch, when you put this polish over a green it makes the glitters give off a more greenish tinge- a TRUE chameleon polish!

The formula of this polish was a little thick, but that is to be expected with glitter bombs! I was able to apply easily in 2 thin coats (what I have pictured on my nails). I did not have to manipulate the glitter, dab, or fish to get the application which you see pictured above.

My-Stash Lacquer is sold on Etsy and can be purchased HERE, Full sized bottles are $6.00 and mini Bottles are $3.00!!!!

I would recommend that you check her out on Instagram as well @mystashlacquer

Customer service is amazing, shipping is quick, and the quality is excellent! I am happy to have been able to review this polish to show you the true beauty of this Glitter Bomb!

Check out her other Glitter Bomb polishes HERE

I hope you enjoyed this polish and review as much as I enjoy wearing it and writing it for you!

Favorite Spring Nail Polishes

How are you all doing! Happy Spring! I hope you are all doing well! I want to say that Spring is one of my favorite times of year! I love the birds and the blooms. It's such a happy time when everything comes back to life, and probably one of my favorite Nail Polish Seasons! :D What's yours?

I have been so busy with work that I haven't been able to make a post so....

Buckle up! It's been a long time since I have posted a blog post and it's going to be a rather long one!!!! Good news is that I will be posting more often and I have some awesome goodies coming to share with you all! As well as these polishes which you can probably find me wearing at any point in time this spring!

First on the list is OPI's Burst My Bubble! This polish is the perfect sheer pale pink that actually leans to an off white! Beautiful formula, very chic and very elegant! Heads up ladies, this will have a VNL!

China Glaze Sweet Hook. This polish has a good formula, no streaks or bald spots. A pale lavender with a drop or two of pink, very complimentary and very spring appropriate!

Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Lacey Lilac!!! This color is like Easter on your nails!!!! It's probably my favorite purple of all time!!! The formula is a bit thick, I usually add a few drops of thinner and I'm good! This is one of the new polishes I DO have a backup for!!!

OPI's You're such a Budapest! This color is just perfect! 2-3 thin coats and you're good to go! It's almost a periwinkle purple (if there is such a thing!) It is going to be a great toe color this spring!

Zoya's Pixie Dust in Stevie! I just could not get my camera to capture the beauty! I must have taken 30 pictures of this one bottle of polish! It's so sparkly and so stunning on the nail! It's a purple with purple and silver glitters and it looks like me like there are slightly larger silver glitters mixed throughout! It's an absolute dream to apply! 2 thin coats and you're done! It's an amazing polish and is a must have for any spring collection!!!!

Another FAVE is Zoya's Perrie! This color is a purple  pink. It's such a beautiful color and would even work going into spring! It's super easy to apply, 2 coats with even application, no streaks, no bald spots. This color looks fabulous on your toes too!!

This is probably going to be my go to color this spring! China Glaze Secret Peri-winkle! I cannot say enough good things about this color! It's smooth, creamy, and just makes me so happy. It's a perfect periwinkle color with a creme finish, perfect application again!

The next polish Sinful Colors Cinderella. Ladies.... This color truly reminds me of being a little girl! The formula is not great! It's a very sheer polish so you must layer or put over white if you want it truly opaque. This color also makes other blue polishes look truly ethereal! It reminds me of all things pretty... Glass slippers, fairy wings, sparkling rhinestones... You get the point! :-) This polish is a showstopper and only around $2.00!

OPI Can't find my Chzecbook is an amazing creamy dreamy teal color! The formula is somewhat thin, but for the color I can total deal! The color is amazing and reminds me of a Robin's egg blue! It would be stunning with a gold speckle polish over top or even a silver! This color is one that I am truly excited that I invested in!

Zoya Kristen... A beautiful powder puff creme blue... It's perfect for the rainy spring days, and the beautiful spring nights! Perfect application, would look great on any skin tone!

Essie Mint Candy Apple has a cult following! This color has been seen on fingers and toes a plenty! Formula? Eh- Well... The formula leaves a lot to be desired. I can deal with the formula as the color is a mint that leans to a blue. It's almost like a mint blue white on your nails (I'm not the most descriptive). If you have tried mints with no success I would recommend picking this color up!
***Another suggestion would be Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in Mint Sorbet (around 3.00 at the drugstore).

OPI Garganuant Green Grape... This color is a true pastel green with a few drops of yellow thrown in. It's a little on the sheer side so probably 3-4 coats to be opaque (or you can make a jelly sammich).

OPI Liquid Sand in Pussy Galore (Named after the famous bond girl)... This color is one that I heard so much about last year and did not know what the all the hype was until I tried it! OMG! It sparkles in the sun like shimmers on your nails! It's a pale pink with a magenta glass fleck (I wish I could have captured!) It is stunning, simple, elegant, classic! In love! <3

Sinful Colors Soul Mate is a beautiful Coral color. It has a wonderful application, wonderful creme finish and perfect in 2 coats. You can find this color in drugstores for around $2.00!!

Orly Rage is the most perfect Rose gold polish to ever live in IMO. The color is very metallic, very true rose gold. Would go great with any other spring color as an accent nail, and you could honestly get away with one coat if you were in a hurry! I put 2 coats on the nail wheel and top top coat here.

OPI you glitter be good to me. This color is perfect over pink or purple. I love to layer it in between OPI Don't Burst my Bubble as Jelly, or use it as an accent nail. If you wanted to be super sparkly and glam you could always make it opaque in 3 coats (2 shown above).

Orly Shine on Crazy Diamond. I'm not going to lie... I bought this polish for the name (total Pink Floyd Fan), however, I am soooo happy that I did! I love this micro holo polish even more than I love China Glaze's Fairy Dust! This polish is an amazing top coat over any polish and adds that extra bit of sparkle to drab polishes or when you need a pick me up!

China Glaze Don't Make a Spectacle. This polish, OMG,... This polish! It is so dainty and so perfect. It's a topper for sure with iridescent glitter. I love this polish over mint green and pink. It's simply beautiful!!!!

*******************************

I know this was a super long post, but you cannot say that I did not warn you! I hope that you enjoyed looking at the polishes as much as I enjoy wearing them! Let me know if you own any of the above mentioned polishes, love them, hate them, want them?

Let us know down below what your favorite Spring polishes are!!!!

XOXO-
